David Russell CEO of Consumer’s Institute and Karen Stevens the Insurance/Savings Ombudsman are just two of the financial speakers who are eager to share their knowledge in order to help out women in our community. They will present at a financial workshop being held at Westlake Girls High School on Saturday 20th May. The speakers will cover a range of topics including: managing credit, setting financial goals and saving for investment as well as asset protection. The Retirement Commission will present a special demonstration of their website, www.sorted.org.
Many women who find themselves’ feeling frustrated when their family income just doesn’t seem to get them closer to their goals, may believe that savings and investment are only for the more ‘well to do’ . Unfortunately, unnecessary borrowing, credit card overspending and partnership breakdowns are a reality of our modern day culture and can often result in stresses that test our ability to cope. At this workshop women will gain skills and information that they can take home and use immediately and that help them on the path to better financial security. As women gain confidence in relation to money matter, they will be able to make informed choices and to take better control of their finances and futures.
The “Money to go round?” workshop has been purposely kept to a low cost so that more people may have the opportunity to attend.
